A New Vision for Farmers
Responding to growing concerns about the sustainability of conventional agricultural methods, in 2000, the Central Tibetan Administration began promoting alternative agricultural practices including permaculture design and biodynamics. These practices dovetail with the Tibetan tradition of “doing no harm,” which is rooted in the principle of ahimsa.
Tibetans are pioneering compassionate, organic, and sustainable farm systems that represent a new agricultural vision. Their leadership will help us all prepare for the challenges and opportunities our futures hold.
